Think about knitting? Dream about knitting? Obsess about knitting?
While I don’t want to make the wrong first impression, it seems I have to answer ‘d. all of the above’, and that maybe, just sometimes, being hyper focused can be a good thing.
You see that’s what I’ve been doing for the past few years while Lyme disease kept me sidelined from high volume knitting. I’ve been thinking about knitting techniques … constantly … in the middle of the night, during the kid’s homework and on long car rides. Thinking about how to mix up techniques that we all use everyday and make them better. They are all either prettier, more functional or easier; seams that stretch, lovely cast ons, and decreases that pop off the knit fabric adding new design elements.
Now that I can knit again (thank God, I was about to lose my mind), these new or modified techniques will be announced with fun new patterns that show you how they can be used. Concepts that will spark even more creative ideas from you. We’re starting with the basics – the perfect eyelet. Grab some scrap yarn, your needles and get ready to swatch.
I’m excited to meet you all and reconnect with our Bella Knitting readers. When you sign up to follow the blog, you can download this Late Harvest Shawl pattern free. It’s the end result of the eyelet experiment we are about to embark on.
‘Wonderful that you are feeling better and re-launching this site! I look forward to your patterns, photos, designs and knitting tips…
Looking forward to the new and exciting things you’ll be doing, Laura!
