Check out our first purchase for the school.
Did you know that 100% of all proceeds from the sale of Flat i-Cord patterns go to support an amazing school in Del Mar, California? It’s a school that serves kids from 4th to 12th grade with learning differences. Kids who often feel like a failure in school just because they need a different kind of learning experience.
Thanks to you, we just delivered two of these fun couches from IKEA. They’re for the group counseling room where kids can talk about their challenges and successes. They really made a difference in the mood of the room! Adults and students alike were thrilled to test them out. A few fun throw pillows brought in by a teacher added even more pizzazz.
The Flat i-Cord is one of my favorite Nuances because I keep finding new ways to use it. The Iquitos braided scarf pattern is the perfect place to learn about the Flat i-Cord. It includes a full tutorial with multiple options including adding stripes and button holes.
One of the options is a ‘double-wide’ Flat i-Cord. I just used it on the edge of a new yet-to-be-named scarf knit with lovely Austrailian Superfine Merino. I’m adding a different color stripe to each side of the i-Cord to help differentiate the two sides of this fully reversible scarf. It will be announced along with some new ways to use the Showy Decrease this fall.
Check back for a new pattern! Another pattern will be added to the existing Iquitos pattern this fall (sounds like I’ll have a busy fall). I just have to decide what it will be. In the mean time, we’ve updated our Lookbook to include the new patterns added this summer. It’s a really fun way to browse through our designs. The cover features the popular Manaus braided headband. I’ve had multiple requests to knit them for friends. I’ve got one on needles for my niece now.
