I just happened on your blog, and I’m excited to try these edges! I have a lap blanket in mind and I think the raised ridge edge would be perfect! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you very much. I adore berets and have knit several. Will have to use your pattern and cast on methods very soon.
Laura, As always – many thanks for the freebies and the GREAT information tutorials. I continue to enjoy following you and all the good tips you provide. Thank you!
Am I glad I found you :)) Looking forward to trying new things.
I’ve been knitting for years, but the woven cast on has me complete stumped. I’ve been looking at it for an hour and can’t figure out how to for it.
OK, I have made a quick video for you. If you just email me at laura@knittingnuances.com I will send it to you.
I am so glad I came across your blog through KP, can’t wait to make the hat and try out all of the brims and edges.
And I’m so glad you found me too! You wouldn’t believe how many of our readers come from the Knitting Paradise forum! They really like their techniques. I’ve found a lot there too now that I am a member.
Laura, here’s another member of the Knitting Paradise forum who wants to thank you. It’s where I found you also. You responded to my request and now I have not only the beret pat,but also instructions to improving hat brims.
Hi! Yet another KP’er here. I learned to knit by following KP suggestions, and now I’m really excited about learning some or all of your “Nuances”. Thank you for all the work that must go into this!
Looking forward to try these techniques.
I have just stumbled across your page and am so delighted with what is going on so much so that I got my needles out at 12o’c last night to practice the flat I-cord. It is just magic. I have been doing alot with round I-cord like cardigan front and neck edges which gives a real nice finish, Cant wait to try this one out. Bless you all and thank you. Martha
Martha, You certainly just made my day. Haven’t been blogging in a bit (health issues) but I anticipating a fantastic last summer because I have a lot of stuff lined up. Laura
Capital N? Anyway, here is the direct link to the website page. I moved it over there to help organize when we added more material. http://knittingnuances.com/techniques/bonus-materials/
Such great “out-of-the-box” thinking! Thanks so much. FYI, your higher resolution videos (castons) are no longer found in dropbox. Not a big problem, because the smaller resolution ones are fine. Just thought I’d let you know.
None of the file download links work.
Cynthia, You are so right!!! They were all in Dropbox folders and Dropbox changed how they work. Ugh, I am sorry. I have to figure out an alternative. I’m thinking YouTube may be the best/easiest answer. I am up to my eyeballs working on holiday project patterns. I will get started on this later in the week. Laura
Some of the items on bonus page create an error page saying ‘file not found’ .. i would really like to get all this info.
best regards,
daisy
Hi Daisy. I had all my videos on Drop Box then they changed their format. Ugh. On today’s post I link to our new You Tube channel that will have all the videos from now on. I will update all the bonus materials with new links in the next week. I’ve been focusing on a bunch of new edges and patterns. 🙂
Thank you.
Hi all. The links have all been redone and work!!
Hi I am new got here through a KP site and I am so excited to try these techniques but it is 2am and I have to try to sleep. Will start first time in morning . Thank you for this great new way to cast off .
I love this blog and I really like the woven caston….there use to be a video for it but I can’t seem to find it…can you help me
Hi! I had all my videos on Drop Box which changed how they share files. So now I opened a You Tube channel and am redoing all the videos with better quality. The Alternating Long Tail cast on is on there which is the tricky part. I’m having some problems getting all the videos in one spot. As soon as I’m confident You Tube has it all categorized and findable and with a custom name I’ll write a post about it. Here is the You Tube Link: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCHX81MaHbt2DX10bSxvGUPw
Hello,nice share.
I am not able to access the free downloads. I keep getting a 403 – Forbidden Error. Is there something I can do to get these downloads? I really would like to get them. Thanks
All fixed! Sorry, all the links were broken when my software updated. The files are now all right on the blog.
